Growth was apparent in downtown Cloverdale as they celebrated their annual festival on Saturday evening. Highlighting the celebration was the annual parade. The parade was led off with the Ottoville and Delphos VFWs acting as the honor guards. Following these units was a Dump Truck from Miller Contracting which served as the Honorary Citizen escort. Chosen as Cloverdale Honorary was Drew Altenberger. Drew recently passed away and was a champion for Cloverdale. Helping the community tirelessly during the effects of the 2012 Derecho and the 2013 Tornado cleanup. Drew was instrumental in the cleanup and salvaging of religious artifacts at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. The Parade was stopped for a time of reflection on Drew and Cloverdale.
Other highlights of the parade included the Shriner Clowns from Findlay (they stayed after the parade to entertain), Continental and Ottoville High School bands. Fire Departments from Ottoville, Oakwood, Fort Jennings, Kalida, Miller City, Glandorf, and Ottawa were present. The parade ended with Paul L doing a long burnout down the parade route.
Highlighting the growth of Cloverdale is the rebuilding of the Community Club and re-roofing of the town hall.
