
Seniors dominated the Putnam County League Boys Basketball All League this year with Seniors taking 4 of 5 spots on both the first and second team.
Pirate Senior Mitchell Coleman was selected as second team PCL. Coleman put in 399 points good for 19 points per game. He has scored 1242 in his career good for 5th place at Continental. He leaves with making the most 3 pointers at Continental and near the top of the Putnam County Boys list.
Pirate Juniors Gavin Huff and Andrew Hoeffel were named Honorable Mention. Huff was the Pirates second leading scorer with 189 points this year, good for 9.45 points per game. Hoeffel was a big cog in the Pirates defense.
Lots of names from last year populate the PCL first and second teams. Ottoville Senior Josh Thorbahn was named Putnam County League boys basketball player of the year for a second time (the other time was in 2018-2019). He was joined on first team with Columbus Grove’s Seniors Blake Reynolds (PCL POY 2019-2020) and Tayt Basinger, Kalida Senior Luke Erhart, and Leipsic Junior Mason Brandt. All but Brandt were on the first team last year with Brandt being named 2nd team last year.
In addition to Coleman, who repeated on the PCL second team, Columbus Grove Senior Gabe Clement, Fort Jennings Senior Evan Hoersten, Ottoville Junior Bill Miller, and Ottoville Senior Ryan Suever. Suever was on the first team last year while Miller is new to the top 2 teams.
Ottoville Head Coach Keith Utedolf was named PCL coach of the year. Ottoville finished the regular season at 18-2 (7-0 PCL).
