Community Lunch @ Christ UMC on Wednesday, June 4th

June 3, 2025 by Adam Donaldson

On Wednesday, June 4th, the ladies at Christ United Methodist Church will offer their 1st Wednesday Lunch with serving starting at 11:30 in the church basement. On the menu: Pulled Pork, Cowboy Baked Beans, Potato Salad/Macaroni Salad, Roll and assorted desserts. Cost is by donation with all funds in the donation box going to the community food pantry. This meal is dine-in or carry-out. Christ UMC is located at 311 South Main Street. Bring your friends – All are welcome to help us support the food pantry!

Fun fact: the first “First Wednesday of the Month” meal was held on September 2, 2009. Chuck Eagle was the pastor at that time and he liked to eat! The meal was proposed as a community outreach project. The first meals were advertised as “free” but that didn’t go over well – people wanted to pay for their lunch. The ladies decided back then that any money raised with the meal would be given to the Food Pantry. They are on their 13th year and the mission is still the same – offering a good meal, community fellowship and all proceeds are given to the local food pantry. Thank you for 16 years of supporting this mission!
