The entire community came together as one Pirate Nation the past 2 Sundays to host our neighboring communities for our annual 5th & 6th grade boys and girls basketball tournaments. Hosting this type of event requires the support of so many in our community and we want to give a shout out to everyone who helped make it possible once again this year.
H&K Chevrolet Inc. were our official tournament sponsor, generously donating t-shirts made by Cove Custom Creations LLC for all players both weekends. This is something special that sets the Blue & Gold Classic apart from other tournaments in the area, giving the kids something extra to remember the fun from the tournament.
American Legion Post 541 had a tremendous buffet spread prepared for both breakfast and lunch for players and families to fill up and get in and out quickly throughout the day both weekends, including during the snowstorm and we can not thank them enough for their help.
Clubhouse Pizza and The LockerRoom Bar Continental helped keep the pizzas hot and available for teams both at the school and with extended hours the last 2 Sundays as well!
The Continental High School Athletic Department and Maintenance Team went above and beyond in making sure the gyms were ready to go and the parking lots were as clear as possible (especially last weekend) and we can not thank them enough for their support in holding this type of event.
A huge thank you to the CHS Boys & Continental Lady Pirate Basketball teams for all of your help the past 2 weekends. The players took turns running scoreboard and score book while the coaches from each program helped officiate the games both weekends.
Finally, a thank you to all of the Blue and Gold club members who gave their time, effort, & energy to help make the events a success again this year. It is not possible without everyone’s help!
