The regular meeting for the Continental School Board was held at 6:00 p.m. on July 19, in the administrative office.
The meeting was called to order by Board President Dean Bidlack, who opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Hearing of the Public:
The Board congratulated the following students that were selected as June “Artists of the Month”– Danielle Clementz, Elementary and Britten Smith, Junior High/High School,
Danielle Clementz is a sixth grade student at Continental Elementary and the daughter of Lindsey Miller and
Steven Clementz. Her chalk project is currently on display in the administrative office at Continental School.
Britten Smith is a junior at Continental High School and the daughter of Lynn and Joseph Smith. Her painting
is on display in the boardroom of the administrative office at Continental School.
Treasurer’s Report:
Treasurer Larry Kaiser updated the Board on the District’s financial report including investments, cash reconciliation,
and Board spending plan.
The Board:
•Appointed Lynn Smith as delegate and Katie Clementz as alternate to the OSBA Business meeting to be held
November 12-14, during the OSBA Capital Conference and Trade Show.
•Approved the following milk and bread bids for the 2023-2024 school year:

•Approved to close the following cash account: 001-9300 Building Maintenance Fund.
•Adopted a resolution determining to proceed to levy renewal tax in excess of the ten-mill limitation.

Substitute Drivers: Tim Eding, Brian Gerdeman, Sarah Goedde, and Nathan Hinkle
•Approved Debara McIntyre and Nathan Schmidt as Continental School van drivers and issued driving certificates for
the 2023-2024 school year, upon receipt of all satisfactory paperwork.
•Employed Maria Martinez as a part-time aide at 5.5 hours per day, 189 days per year, and issued a one-year limited
contract, pending proper certification and satisfactory background checks, effective August 17 at Step 5, for the
2023-2024 school year.
•Approved maternity leave to elementary teacher Amanda Gray, effective at the start of the school year. Anticipated
return date will be September 25.
Superintendent’s Report:
•Robin Etter gave the Vantage Career Center report.
•Upcoming points of information were shared with the Board.
•The Board approved to go into executive session to conduct evaluations of the treasurer and superintendent.
