Continental Draws to OHSAA DVII Northwest District 2 (Kenton) and Southwest Regional 27

On Sunday, Continental Girls Softball earned the #2 seed in the OHSAA DVII Northwest District Group A and now are looking at road trips if they advance far in the tournament.  Ayersville was seeded #1 in District A and chose to go to the Northwest District 1 along with #4 Antwerp and #5 Kalida.  These teams will play District Semifinals at Defiance.  Northwest District 1 also includes teams from Group C (Bryan District).  Top teams from Group C choosing to play in District 1 are #2 seed Hilltop and # 3 seed Edon.  Winner of the District A (Defiance) will stay in Northwest Ohio for Regionals where they will play winner of Northwest District 3 (Bryan).  Other teams in the Northwest Regional will come out of District 4 (Oak Harbor) and District 6 (Buckeye Central).

Since Group A choose their tournament route last in the Northwest Ohio DVII draw Continental decided to go South by taking a place in District 2.  Continental choose a route that will have the sectional final at home against #7 seed Holgate.  Winner of that game will advance to take on the winner of #3 seed Miller City and #7 seed Ottoville at Defiance in a District Semifinal.  District finals for District 2 will be at Kenton against Group B District Semifinal winner.  Top teams playing in District 2 from Group B are #1 seed Hardin Northern and #3 seed Upper Scioto Valley.  Winner of District 2 will advance to the Southwest Regional 27 where they will meet up against Southwest District 1 winner.  Southwest District 1 top teams are New Miami, Lockland and Oyler.  So teams in the Northwest District 2 from Group A will play at a different location clear up to the Regional finals.  Listed at the bottom is the MAXPrep rating of teams in District 2 along with record and MAXPrep ratings of the the top teams in the Southwest District 1.
