“We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.” This is a quote from John F. Kennnedy. Continental Elementary would like to stop and thank the mentors who volunteered their time to read with students in the Title Reading Program. Dorothy Hanefeld, Amanda Coble, Alicia Bishop, Lois Weller, Kathy Spencer, Dennis Woodburn, and Kathy Heater mentored students in grades First through Third. They helped with reading grade levels stories, vocabulary, reading skills, and listening to students read books that the students picked out. The mentors gave students a chance to work with someone 1:1, to have their undivided attention for 30 minutes. The mentors offered encouragement and confidence to students on a daily basis. The Title Reading Program is a stronger program due to the time that the mentors gave to the school. Therefore, we say thank you for making a difference in our lives!
