Continental High School – 16 Honor Graduates – 2023
Rhenn Armey is the son of Joshua and Jaime Armey. Rhenn is the Student Council president and a member of National Honor Society. Rhenn was a four year varsity soccer and basketball player, eventually becoming a captain for both. Outside of school, Rhenn works at H&K detailing cars and enjoys golfing with his friends. The next chapter will include Air Force ROTC at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Biochemistry.
Mackenzie Barnhart is the daughter of Brenette and Dan Barnhart. Mackenzie is a four-year member of the cheerleading squad and has been a dancer at Tannis School of Dance for the past 15 years. She is also a member of the TSOD competition team. In high school Mackenzie is a member of the FCCLA, an aide for Mr. Palte, and is an active member in the Continental Art Club. Mackenzie is also a house leader for PBIS. Outside of school, Mackenzie works at Serenity Living Center and babysits. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family and going to dance. In the fall, Mackenzie plans to attend The Paul Mitchell School to pursue a career in cosmetology.
Mya Bishop is the daughter of Shane and Alicia Bishop. Mya is the senior class president, and has been involved for three years with Student Council, the National Honor Society, where she held the position of secretary, and Quiz Bowl her senior year. Mya is a four-year varsity soccer player, a three-year varsity track and field athlete, a four-year member on the cheer squad and three-year member on the marching band color guard. She joined the musical cast her senior year and was part of the production of Tarzan. Mya attends youth group at Dupont Church of the Brethren. After graduation, Mya plans to attend the Ohio State University, and major in biology. She is pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.
Alyssa Burgei is the daughter of Craig and Angela Burgei. Alyssa has maintained a 4.0 grade average throughout high school and been her class vice president for four years. She is the president of the National Honor Society and treasurer of her 4-H club. She is also involved in the drama department, quiz bowl, yearbook, band including county Honors band, cheerleading, the art club, and she runs the soccer scoreboard. Outside high school, she has danced for 16 years at Cindy’s Tap on Wood Dance studio and is a dance teacher’s aide. She is also a mass server for her church, St John the Baptist Catholic Church. After high school, Alyssa plans to attend the University of Findlay and major in animal science and pre-veterinary studies.
Macie Cordes is the daughter of Matt and Stacie Cordes and Nicole Cordes. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and FCCLA. Macie is a co-editor of the yearbook, and a part of the Big Brother/Big Sister program. She also participates in Wednesday night church youth group and attends Saturday morning Coffee with Jesus. She participated in volleyball all four years of high school where she served as a captain her senior year. She is a two-year varsity basketball player and a two-year varsity softball player. Macie works part-time at Clubhouse Pizza. Her future plans are to attend The University of North Carolina- Charlotte and major in biology with the hope of pursuing a career in Marine Biology.
Drew Crossgrove is the son of Josh and Krista Crossgrove. Drew is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. Drew played JV & Varsity soccer for four years and basketball for two years. At Vantage, Drew was the president of the Industrial Mechanics lab his junior year and is now the vice-president for his senior year. He is a Student Ambassador for the 2023 Vantage class. Drew is employed at Unverferth Manufacturing in Kalida, where he plans to be employed after graduation.
Reese Knowles is the daughter of K.C and Carlie Knowles. During high school, Reese has held a 4.0 grade point average and been vice president of the National Honor Society, president of FCCLA, secretary of Student Council, a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and the Continental Art Club. She has also designed the fall fest mural for the past few years. Reese is involved in sports as a three-year varsity member and a captain in both basketball and softball and a four-year member of the band and quiz bowl. She has helped out with stats and video for both the volleyball and soccer teams and was in the musical this spring. Reese is very active in her community and also participates in her Wednesday night church youth group and the Coffee with Jesus group. She is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Reese has enjoyed working at Sundae’s Ice cream the past four years! In her free time Reese enjoys learning new instruments, being spontaneous with her friends, and cracking jokes with her family and teachers. Reese plans to attend Ashland University majoring in education.
Olivia Logan is the daughter of James Logan and Jennifer Lamond. While in high school Liv was on the volleyball team for four years, captain for one, and a captain for the basketball team for four years. Liv was treasurer in the National Honor Society and was a class officer for two years. Liv is a four-year member of the band. Liv is very active in band, she learned all the instruments and enjoys learning new songs on the piano. While not in school Liv works and spends times with her friends. After graduation Liv is planning to go into the workforce.
Broooklyn Niese is the daughter of Brian and Sarah Niese. During her high school career, she was a part of the volleyball team for three years, and a cheerleader for four years. Brooklyn was also a member of the FCCLA, the Continental Art Club and National Honor Society. She enjoyed being a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, being a house leader for PBIS, was as a yearbook co-editor. She also was a four-year member of the scholastic team. Brooklyn enjoyed running the scoreboard for the athletic department, and also being an aide for Mrs. Sullivan in the high school office. Her future plans include attending the University of Findlay College of Pharmacy to get her Doctorate in Pharmacy. She plans to pursue a career involving pediatric or intensive care patients.
Jensen Prowant is the daughter of Scott and Julie Prowant. During her high school career, Jensen has participated in four years of varsity soccer, four years of varsity track and field, three years of varsity cheerleading, and two years of basketball. Jensen has also been involved as a member of the National Honor Society. Outside of high school Jensen works at Arby’s in Ottawa, babysits when she can and spends time with her friends and family. After high school, Jensen plans to attend Tiffin University, majoring in Forensic Psychology while being a member of the University’s Cold Case Fellowship Program.
Madison Rayle is the daughter of Ronnie and Tammy Rayle. She is a member of the National Honor Society, vice president of community service for FCCLA, a member of Student Council, Art Club, the Big Brother/Big Sister program, and the yearbook staff and has been on the honor roll. She was also involved with her church youth group. She participated in varsity softball as a captain, is on the cheer squad and recorded stats for boys’ soccer. Madison has volunteered within her community throughout her high school career. She works at Clubhouse Pizza and Brookhill Industry. After high school, Madison would like to attend Rhodes State College to further her education as a cardiographic technician. She would also like to become a softball coach for younger kids.
Madison Relue is the daughter of Steve and Pam Relue. During her high school years, she was part of the softball team for two years, took part in the yearbook creation, and was leader of her house for PBIS. Madison enjoyed running the scoreboard for the athletics department and being an aide for Mrs. Sullivan in the high school office. After high school, Madison plans to attend Rhodes State College in Lima for Veterinary Technician General Studies then continuing her education through Colby Community College in Kansas.
Allisyn Scott is the daughter of Steve and Tabbetha Scott. She has played four years of varsity soccer, softball and track, three years of varsity cheerleading, and a year of varsity basketball. Allisyn was class president for three years, a delegate at Buckeye Girls’ State this past year and is also a member of the National Honor Society. She participates in the FCCLA and art club. Allisyn is committed to the University of Cincinnati and plans to study psychology, criminology, or sociology.
Janae Smith is the daughter of Tracey Smith and Brandy Lee. Janae is the senior class treasurer, has been in FCCLA for four years and joined the art club her senior year. Janae is a manager at Taco Bell. She is planning to attend Rhodes State College in the future to pursue a career in childhood education.
Bryn Tegenkamp is the daughter of Todd and Michelle Tegenkamp. In high school Bryn was a member of the all A’s honor roll, National Honor Society, FCCLA, quiz bowl team, art club, yearbook staff, and Big Brothers Big Sisters program. She was vice president of the Student Council. She also aides for Mrs. Sullivan in the high school office and attends Wednesday night church and the Coffee with Jesus group. Bryn is a three-year varsity member of the soccer team and served as varsity captain for two years. She was a three-year member of the varsity basketball team and was captain for two years, a one-year member of the varsity softball team, and she is a two-year member of the varsity track and field team. Her future plans include attending Ave Maria University to further her academic and athletic career. She plans to play soccer and major in education with a minor in exercise science.
Lauren Williams is the daughter of Brad and Sandy Williams. She has maintained a GPA of 3.7 throughout high school. During her high school career Lauren participated in volleyball, cheerleading, and softball all four years. She was a member of the National Honor Society and FCCLA, and was a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Lauren was also co-editor of the yearbook. Lauren plans to attend Rhodes State college, majoring in Dental Hygiene.
