
It Happened Last Night….
The regular meeting for the Continental School Board was held at 6:00 p.m. on August 17, 2022 in the administration office. The meeting was called to order by board president Dean Bidlack, who opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mrs. Tracy Potts, Elementary Principal, reported:
•Enrollment: Our numbers are changing by the day.
a. New Students: 16
b. Withdrawn: 8
•Summer School – We had 22 students attend summer school. Thank you to the summer school teachers.
•LifeWise – LifeWise plans to begin their classes on the first day of school. They currently have 50 students
enrolled.
•PBIS – Bootcamp on Friday, August 26.
•Chromebook Distribution: Thanks to Mrs. Sarah Baughman, Mr. Elliott Kosch, and Mr. Danny Kissell for their
hard work over the summer. All chromebooks will be assigned to students through the library system.
•Packs – Distribution will begin on Friday, September 9.

August 25 – First day for Kindergarten

September 1 – PS and 4-6 Pictures
Mr. Tim Eding, JH/HS Principal, reported:
•Thank you to the custodians and maintenance crew for all of their hard work inside and outside of the
building this summer.
•Thank you to Mr. Elliott Kosch for his hard work to get all of the student iPads and teacher machines ready for
the new school year.
•Student schedules, agenda books, and iPads will be available for pickup at Open House (4:00-6:00 p.m.).
This is also a time for students to visit classrooms, put supplies in their lockers, pay student fees, and put money
in their lunch accounts.
a. There will be a 7th grade student/parent meeting just prior to Open House starting at 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
•We want to remind all parents and students to complete their online paperwork via Final Forms prior to the
first day of school.
•The Athletic Department is selling sports passes for the upcoming school year. If interested in purchasing
student or adult passes, please contact Athletic Director Jordan Streicher.
•The JH/HS staff has worked hard this year to revamp our PBIS program. I am very excited about the changes
they have made and look forward to rolling this out to our students on the first day of school.
b. The program will be more closely aligned with the K-6 program.
c. The goal of the program is to improve our school by promoting attendance, behavior, and academic performance.

Treasurer’s Report:
The Board:
•Approved the following Appropriation changes:
•Approved a propane agreement with JPS Oil and Propane for commercial lock-in price of $1.96 per gallon of heating propane for the upcoming heating season.
•Approved an agreement with Wood County Educational Service Center for the Wood County Juvenile Detention
Center and the Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio.
•Approved a $1,000 donation from the Continental Baseball and Softball Club to the Athletic Department.
•Adjusted the adult cafeteria breakfast price to $2.00.

•Approved bus routes for school year 2022-2023 and authorized Superintendent Kissell to make necessary changes
as they occur.
•Reviewed TV and radio stations that will be used for school cancellations or delays:
•Approved the August 2022 Putnam County substitute teacher list, provided by the Putnam County ESC.
•Approved the following substitutes for the 2022-2023 school year:

Domonique Hinkle, Cafeteria
Jami Sullivan, Secretary and Aide
•Employed the following full-time substitute teachers on a one-year, long-term substitute teaching contract, effective
August 18, 2022, at Step 0BA. Days and hours will be that of a regular teacher. This position will not be extended at
the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
Tara Warnement, Full-Time 7-12 Substitute Teacher
Kristen Ellerbrock, Full-Time K-6 Substitute Teacher
•Employed Christina Bartley as an Aide at Step 4, 6.67 hours per day, 189 days per year pending satisfactory
background checks, if applicable, and issue a one-year limited contract, effective August 18, 2022.
•Approved Lindsey Miller as a volunteer junior high cross country coach, pending certification and satisfactory
background checks if applicable, for the 2022 season.
•Approved October 13 & 14 as dock in pay days for Carol Sullivan.
•The next regular Board meeting is September 20, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the administrative office.
•The meeting adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
