Continental Local Schools Parents and Students,
Continental Local Schools has utilized all five allotted calamity days for the 2025–26 school year. As a result, school will be in session on Monday, April 6 as a make-up day.
In an effort to avoid extending the school year beyond the last scheduled student day of May 21, we will implement e-Learning Days if additional school closures are necessary for the remainder of theschool year. Parents and students will be notified via ParentSquare if an e-Learning Day is required due to a future calamity day.
Attached to this letter is information from each building principal outlining how e-Learning will operate in their respective buildings. Please review these letters carefully, as procedures and expectations may differ by building. If you have questions, please contact the appropriate school office.
We appreciate your continued support of Continental Local Schools as we navigate the use of these e-Learning days. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Respectfully,
Tim Eding
Superintendent

Continental Schools have utilized all five allotted calamity days for the 2025-26 school year, as well as one of the two designated make-up days. As a result, Continental School will be in session on Monday, April 6. Any further cancellations will require the use of remote learning days for the remainder of the school year. Please review the information below, and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Remote Learning Procedures for Calamity Days
February 18, 2026
Dear Students and Parents:
Below are the procedures for e-Learning days for the JH/HS building (students in grades 7-12). Please review the information and contact the school office with any questions.
Procedures for remote learning during a calamity day:
● Students/Parents will be notified via ParentSquare when we are using a remote learning day.
● School will be in session “virtually” on a 2-hour delay schedule (10:15am-3:00pm) through video conferencing (via the Google Meet on student iPads).
○ Teachers will send out a link to Google Meet before 10:00 am to their classes through ParentSquare.
● Students are expected to log into their classes through Google Meet at the beginning of each class period following the 2-hour delay bell schedule (see next page).
○ Students are not required to log into Academic Assist unless specifically told to do so by their teacher.
● Teachers will take period attendance each period based on who has logged in. If students are not logging in and do not have a valid excuse, they will be marked absent for the period.
○ If a student is ill and cannot participate or has an appointment, a parent should notify the JH/HS office as they normally would and we’ll add them to the attendance list.
○ If a student does not attend classes and does not have a valid excuse, this will be considered an unexcused absence.
● If a teacher does not expect students to participate via video conference or is having issues with the video conferencing, they will send ParentSquare to the students in the class.
● Teachers will be posting assignments and communicating with students through Schoology and ParentSquare. Students need to check both of these multiple times during school hours so that they do not miss information or assignments.
● The expectation is that students will complete all assignments and that teachers will grade assignments as they normally would for in-person instruction (assignments will be due the next day after they are assigned, unless the teacher extends that deadline).
● All students need to make sure they take their iPad home EACH NIGHT. Not having their iPad at home will not be an acceptable excuse for not doing assignments.
● If you do not have internet access at home and will not be able to access classes as a result, a parent/guardian should notify the JH/HS Office. If pre-notification is given and approved by the office, assignments will be due two (2) days after they are assigned.
