The Pirates have the late game on Wednesday in the OHSAA Division III Boys Soccer District Semifinals against Putnam County League rival Ottoville. The #3 seed Pirates earned the spot in the District field by defeating #5 seed Allen East on Saturday. The host Pirates controlled the action most of the game but excellent goalie work kept the Pirates scoring at bay till there was 18:39 left in the first half when Pirate Senior Trevor Brecht sent a strong shot that bounded off the Mustang goalie and went straight in the air. Brecht then headed the ball in for the 1-0 Pirate lead at half. With 7:08 left in the half the Pirates took a Penalty kick whose shot and rebound was stopped by the Mustang goalie. Pirates 1, Mustangs 0 at half.
The Pirates would add a second goal in the second half with 22:42 left when Andrew Hoeffel knocked down a goal kick around the midfield line and passed immediately to Rhenn Armey. Armey then passed the ball to Wyatt Davis who took a shot from the 8 that beat the Mustang defense. Pirates 2, Mustangs 0 final.
Continental had 17 shots on goal while Allen East had 1. Pirate goalie Konnor Knipp-Williams had 1 save in the shutout. Continental had 3 corner kicks to the Mustangs 1.
