
On Tuesday both teams in the Continental – Archobld boys soccer game enjoyed 2 goal runs but it was the Pirate final 2 that decided the outcome. The host Pirates opened up the scoring when Braxton Stegbauer put a Westin Okuley pass in the back of the net just over 3 minutes into the game. Rhenn Armey would put in his first goal of the game with 24:56 left in the half to make it 2-0 Pirates. Archbold made it 2-1 with 13:34 left in the first half. The Blue Steaks would tie the game and match the Pirates 2 goal run with just 2:40 left in the half. 18 seconds later the Pirates would take the lead for good when Armey converted a pass from Stegbauer. Continental 3-1 at half.
The only score in the second half was by Pirate Armey who completed the hat trick with 7:28 left in the game. Westin Okuley got the assist.
Rhenn Armey led the Pirates with 3 goals while Braxton Stegbauer picked up a goal and an assist. Westin Okuley had 2 assists.
Konnor Knipp Williams was the goalie of record for the Pirates picking up 1 save.
Continental had 13 shots on goal compared to the Blue Streaks 3. Continental had 4 corner kicks while Archbold had 2.
Continental improves to 11-3 while Archbold falls to 7-4-1. Continental hosts Liberty Benton on Saturday in non league action. This will be the Pirates Senior day.
