Continental Senior Connections held their May gathering on Tuesday, the 12th at the Continental American Legion. Thirty seniors citizens were in attendance. Tess Salisbury, Professor & Social Work Program Director at Defiance College was our guest speaker. Tess’s topic was “Creating Dialogue for Senior Life Changes”. Common senior life changes, conversations everyone should have, and why families avoid these conversations were shared. Tess summed it up with: Preparation creates peace of mind, Communication protects dignity, Your voice and wishes matter, and It is never too early to start the dialogue. A huge “thank you!” to Tess for sharing her expertise to help ourselves and our loved ones to have these important conversations in advance and not wait until its too late.
“Container Gardening” presented by the Putnam County Extension Office will be the topic for the June Continental Senior Connections gathering on June 9th at 11:30 in the Small Hall at the Continental American Legion. Mark it on your calendar and join us!
