On Tuesday, March 10th, 30 senior citizens gathered in the Small Hall at the American Legion for the Continental Senior Connections gathering. The group enjoyed a delicious lunch (goulash was the special!) and two great speakers from Putnam County Homecare & Hospice. Myra Parrett, LPN, Business Development Representative and Tina Fitzwater, RN, Care Transitions Coordinator shared the many useful services their agency has to offer. Transitional care, palliative care, hospice and grief counseling are only some of the services offered. Putnam County Homecare & Hospice is the only county-ran, in-home care provider in the area and they travel to all the surrounding counties to visit clients. Those of us who thought we were very familiar with this agency found out that there is so much more to know! If you have any questions about the services PC Homecare & Hospice can provide, feel free to give them a call at 419-523-4449.
The group also browsed the Share Table – puzzles, books and magazines seem to be popular items. Karen shared the upcoming opportunities for our area seniors and those events can be found on the Continental Senior Connections Facebook page. The Ohio Northern University Mobile Health Clinic was available in the parking lot to offer medical assistance to our community. Our next meeting is Tuesday, April 14th at the American Legion at 11:30am. We hope you will join us!
