The Putnam County Health Department has received a grant to support a cooking class called “Cooking Matters”. It is targeted for parents with young children in the Continental area. The course includes 6 classes where participants cook 3 healthy recipes with food provided at each class. They taste the food during class and receive enough food to prepare one recipe for their family at home. Nutrition educational topics are also discussed. It’s a $400 value for any parent that wants to attend. The course will begin August 16th from 5 – 7 PM at the Dupont Church of the Brethren.
–You prepare new recipes each week with food provided, and then sample what you prepared.
–Take home food to prepare the recipes for your family.
–Learn healthy food tips for you and your family.
–Learn and practice cooking skills.
–Get advice on making healthy choices on a limited budget.
–Receive incentives and prizes when you attend all 6 classes.
