
Do you have concerns about falling? If YES, attend a Matter of Balance (MOB) Fall Prevention Class!!
Falls among older adults have reached epidemic proportions and rates continue to rise. Statistics show that 1 in 3 Ohio adults, age 65 and better, fall each year. The Matter of Balance (MOB)—Fall Prevention class is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. The MOB class is an 8-week program that is held once per week, for 2 hours each session for 8 consecutive weeks.
A Matter of Balance class will be starting on Friday, April 5, at the Continental United Methodist Church, 300 North Main in Continental. Classes will be held each Friday from April 5 until May 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Pre-registration is required as class size is limited. Please call the Putnam County Council on Aging at 419-523-4121 to register.
A Matter of Balance is for you if:
You are concerned about falls. You want to improve your balance, strength and flexibility.
You have fallen in the past. You don’t do things you used to enjoy because you fear falling.
Matter of Balance participants will learn to:
View falls as something they can control. Set goals and increase their activity levels.
Make changes to reduce fall risks at home. Exercise to increase strength and balance.
