CONTINENTAL – David Allen Newell, 67, of Continental, passed away at 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the Meadows of Kalida. He was born December 21, 1956, in Lima to the late Dale and Joann (Keeran) Newell. On March 10, 1979, he married Denise Inez Hunt, she preceded him in death on January 25, 2023.
David is survived by two sons: Dwayne (Michele) Newell of Ottawa, and Douglas Newell of Continental; his beloved dog: Peaches; and two brothers: James (Anna) Newell and Thomas (Renee) Newell; and a brother-in-law: Bill Cotterman.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Judy Cotterman, and a brother, Randy Newell.
David retired from Campbell’s Soup, Napoleon. He had also retired from H&R Block. David loved doing his taxes. He had attended Dupont Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards with his family, making crafts, and going to craft shows with his wife. David loved spending time outside with his family and his dog.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Pastor Terry Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe Cemetery, Continental. A visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
