CONTINENTAL – Denise Inez Newell, 65, of Continental, died 1:32 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at her residence. She was born December 9, 1957, in Defiance to the late Charles and Mildred (Powell) Hunt. On March 10, 1979, she married David Newell, who survives in Continental.
Other survivors include two sons: Dwayne (Michele) Newell of Ottawa and Doug Newell of Continental; and two brothers: Alan (Diane) Hunt and Melvin (Rosalee) Hunt, both of Continental.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Martin (Ruth) Hunt and Perry Hunt.
Denise worked in nutrition services. She attended Dupont Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed craft shows, flea markets, butterflies, traveling, collecting snowmen and her dogs. Denise loved playing cards with her family and spending time with them.
A funeral service for Denise will begin 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2023 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Pastor Terry Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the funeral home.
