OTTAWA – Dennis D. Farthing, 74 of Ottawa died at 4:13 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center. He was born January 8, 1945 in Continental to the late Burdette and Burnis (Miley) Farthing. On May 1, 1971 he married Carol Teders and she survives in Ottawa.

Also surviving are 3 children: Tonya (Tim) Buchanan of Zanesville, Gregory Farthing of Ottawa and Sarah Farthing of Columbus; 2 grandchildren: Garrett and Braylon Buchanan; a brother, Don (Carol) Farthing of Leipsic; and 3 sisters: Joyce (Jim) Stover of Reno, NV, Jan Frantz of Cridersville and Janeen Elliott of Ottawa.

Dennis was a 1963 graduate of Leipsic High School. He worked at Sylvania (Philips) in Ottawa and at Whirlpool in Findlay. He was a veteran of the US Army, an active member of Ottawa VFW Post 9142. In his spare time he loved gardening, especially growing potatoes. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at the lake.
