Elaine Perkey, 1928 – 2018

OTTAWA – Elaine Perkey, 89, of Ottawa, died at 11:14 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born August 14, 1928 in Putnam County, OH to the late Doyle and Harriet (Pangle) DeVelbiss. On August 17, 1946, she married E. Gene Perkey. He died March 4, 2004. Surviving are three children: Ginny (Bob) Hughes, New Castle, IN; David (Mary Jane) Perkey and Steph (Allen) Rosengarten both of Ottawa; one sister: Janet (Floyd) Worline of Defiance; one brother: Bud (Judy) DeVelbiss of Toledo; five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death also by 2 children: Linda Jane Perkey and James Eugene Perkey and a brother and his wife: Ed (Eileen) DeVelbiss.

Elaine retired from Philips in Ottawa. After retirement she worked at Woodland Acres from 1990 to 2002. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ottawa. She loved being with her family and friends and enjoyed bowling, puzzles, word search and knitting.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Katie Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and one hour prior to service at the church on Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
