Riverdale Falcons dominated 2 aspects of the non league Softabll game at Continental on Friday. First they took control of the game when they plated 11 runs in the second inning and second when they had 8 extra base hits (2 homeruns and 2 triples) while the Pirates did not have any extra base hits. The Falcons opened the game by putting 4 runs across the plate in the first while the Pirates put 3 on their scoreboard for a 4-3 Falcon lead after the 1. The Falcons outscored the Pirates 11-1 in the second to take control of the game 15-4 Falcons after 2. The Falcons would add 5 runs to their total in the 3rd to take a 20-4 lead. No other runs were scored until the Pirates plated 4 in a rally attempt to extend the game. Falcons 20-4 final.
The Pirates would get 12 hits total led by Reese Knowles going 3/3 with 1 run and 1 RBI. Tori Searfoss and Rhaegan Clemens going 2/3 with Searfoss scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 runs, Clemens drove in 2 runs. Lauren Williams batter 2/2 with 1 run scored for the Pirates.
Ali Scott took the loss for the Pirates pitching 3.2 innings while Destiny Pier pitched 1.1 innings.
Continental falls to 0-5 and on Saturday will be at the Ayersville Super 6 Tournament along with Fort Recovery, Ayersville, Miller City, Paulding and Wayne Trace. Riverdale improves to 6-1.
