
Saturday had Continental High Boys Soccer take the 1+ hour road trip East to Riverdale for non league matchup. A close game between 2 Northwest Ohio Division VII top teams was expected and delivered. It was the Falcons who opened up the scoring with a goal with 16:33 left in the first half. The Falcons added a second goal with 6:06 left in the half to take a 2-0 lead. Pirate Rhettik Bowers made it a 1 goal game 30 seconds later as he hit the back of the net from a Jackson Bidlack pass. Falcons 2-1. A defensives struggle in the second yielded limited scoring opportunities for both teams. Falcons 2-1 final.
Rhettik Bowers scored 1 goal for the Pirates while Jackson Bidlack picked up the assist. Jayden Pitney took the loss in goal for the Pirates making 4 saves. The Falcons had a 7-3 advantage on shots on goal. Both teams had 2 corner kicks.
Continental falls to 6-6-2 and will travel to Pettisville on Tuesday for a non league game. Riverdale improves to 8-7-1.
