The 27th annual Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure is coming to Putnam County and Van Wert County and Defiance County, Wood County and Allen County the week of June 21 – 27th!! Dust off your bicycles and join in an awesome week of riding, eating, camping, eating, sleeping, and eating (burn lots of calories, eat lots of calories).
The week will start with an overnight stay at the Van Wert County fairgrounds on Saturday. Sunday will be a 52 mile trek to the campus of Bluffton University. Monday will have bikers traveling a 57 mile route to the Defiance College (by way of Columbus Grove). Tuesday is a rest day or for the go-getter type there is an optional 53 mile ride to Sauder’s in Archbold. Wednesday saddle up and ride a 49 mile route to the Bowling Green High School. Spend an extra day lounging around in Bowling Green or join the century club and ride the 100 mile loop to Lake Erie or the 50 mile loop to Pemberville. Friday’s 54 mile route will bring the 2000+ bikers to the Ottawa Elementary campus. Finish the week on Saturday with a 49 mile ride back to your vehicle in Van Wert.
The 2015 route is a “flat” route through villages and cornfields on back roads and bike trails. People of all ages participate in this week-long adventure. The GOBA officials have done this for 27 years and they know how to co-ordinate routes, food, lodging, showers, activities and more for 2000+ riders. Let 2015 be the year you become a GOBA alumni!
