
To the Victors go the spoils. Putnam County League Softball team placed 3 on the PCL first team and another on the second team while claiming PCL Player of the Year and Co-Coach of the year. Senior Gracie Homier claimed her third PCL Player of the Year as she led the Pirates with a .460 average, scoring 30 runs, getting 27 RBIs and being dominating on the mound going 17-4 with a 1.16 ERA. Gracie has rewritten the Pirates Pitching record book setting standards in strikeouts and wins. Junior Kenzie Searfoss earned first team honors as she manned the shortstop position, had a team leading 3 home runs and hit .438, 23 runs scored and 30 RBIs. Sophomore Ava Homier was the second baseman for the Pirates and hit .397, scored 23 runs and 17 stolen bases. Senior Kimberly Grant played center field and hit .333 and had 3 doubles and 3 triples. Sophomore Becca Sullivan, Sophomore Maeci Dockery, and Senior Mallorie Barnhart all earned Putnam County Honorable Mention. A great Senior class, Gracie, Homier, Mackenzie Niese, Kimberly Grant and Mallorie Barnhart, all earned Scholar Athlete honors. Pirate Coach Leva Aguirre shard the PCL Coach of the Year award with Miller City Coach Beau Pester. The Pirates claimed the PCL with a perfect 6-0 record, the Wildcats were runner up at 5-1.
