Grant Clementz Wins First PCL Track & Field Player of the Year

A dominating performance by Continental High’s Grant Clementz led him to be named the first Putnam County League Track and Field Player of the Year for 2026.  At the Putnam County League Track and Field meet held on Friday at Columbus Grove, Grant took first in the Boys 200M, won by a photo finish in the 400M and took a third first place finish as part of the 4x200M relay team.  Grant also placed 4th in the 100M.  Grant was not the only event winner for the Pirates as Brady Thomsen won the Boys Discus.  Brady also claimed 4th in the Shot Put.  Tyson Clemntz took 2nd in the Boys 300M hurdles and 4th in the 110M Hurdles.  On the girls side, Addie Troyer placed 5th in the 100M and 6th in the 200M while Cassie Pier took 5th in the Shot Put and 6th in the Discus.  The Pirate Girls 4×100 relay placed 4th.  Columbus Grove won the Girls side with 218 points with Kalida coming in second with 141 points. The Pirates placed 6th with 27 points.  On the Boys side Columbus Grove was the team winner with 157 points.  Pandora Gilboa was second with 116 points.  The Pirates placed 4th with 83 points.
