Helen I. Williams, 94, of Bronson, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital surrounded by her family.
A service will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 12 pm at Dutcher Funeral Home of Bronson with Pastor Terry Siler officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11-12:00. A visitation will also be held the night prior, Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 4-7:00 at Dutcher Funeral Home of Bronson.
Helen was born March 10, 1930 in Continental, OH to Walter and Vontella (Ordway) Schwartzengraber. She married Paul Williams on April 1, 1950 in Ottawa, OH. He preceded her in death July 7, 2004.
After graduation she started her career at the AFC office in Putman County. After moving to Bronson in 1965 Helen started working as the head cook for Bronson Community Schools before her retirement in 1993. After her retirement, she continued working at Key Bank in Bronson, Kmart, and Jojo’s Convenient Store in Fremont, IN. Helen was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Sweet Adelines, and the Noble Township Extension Group. She volunteered with the Cub Scouts, 4-H, the Branch County Election Board, Youth for Christ, and the Bronson Food Pantry. She loved to garden, read, bake, travel, and play music on the piano and singing. Most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren at the farm.
Helen is survived by her children Lana Gray of Auburn, Lynn Williams of Bronson, Darlene Williams of Orland, IN, Ronald (Sandi) Williams of Bronson, Rodney W. Williams of Waterloo, IN; Daughter in law Valerie Williams of Bronson; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Daryl Williams; her son in law Larry VanWagner; and her sister Janet Dominique.
