Continental High School freshman Alex Hoeffel has been nominated for the MaxPreps & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Individual Award for her soccer action last week.
Week 2 Girls Soccer Athlete of the Week nominees:
* Erin Gordon, Northwestern (West Salem)
GK tied a school record with her 20th career shutout in a 2-0 win over Rittman.
* Sam Buck, Reynoldsburg (Reynoldsburg)
Scored five goals in a 5-5 tie with Newark.
* Alex Hoeffel, Continental
Tied a school record by scoring five goals in a 9-4 win over Delphos Jefferson. Also had three goals in a win over Wauseon.
* Skylar Millard, McKinley (Canton)
GK made a state-best 35 saves last week in a 4-2 loss to Our Lady of the Elms.
* Lexi Boyk, Berkshire (Burton)
Freshman had three goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Lordstown and four goals and two assists in a 9-0 win over Bedford. Has 11 goals and five assists on four games.
