On Thursday, Continental High Girls Varsity ventured to the South edge of Putnam County to take on Fort Jennings in a Putnam County League game. Early on had the Pirates finding the nets extremely unfriendly as they could only put in 3 points in the first quarter while the Musketeers made 8 points. A dominating second quarter by the Fort Jennings squad made the half time score 26-8. The Pirates doubled their output in the third quarter to make their total 16 but the Musketeers won the quarter and took a 36-16 lead into the fourth quarter. A Pirate comeback in the fourth quarter got the deficit down to 14 at one point but it was the Musketeers that prevailed 42-26.
Amber Logan led the Pirates with 7 points. Addyson Armey put in 6, Alex Hoeffel 5, Kaitlyn Alvarado 4, Brooke Bradford and Catelyn Etter 2 each. Logan and Hoeffel both put in a 3 point shot. Overall the Pirates hit 10-16 for 22%.
Continental (1-12, 0-4 PCL) will travel to Leipsic Saturday afternoon for another PCL game. Fort Jennings improves to 3-12 (1-3 PCL). Fort Jennings also won the Junior Varsity game.
