OTTAWA — A judgment has been made in a sunshine law violation case against the Putnam County Board of Elections.
Judge Sumner E. Walters ruled the Elections Board violated the state’s open meetings law nine times in regards to notice requirements, and eight times for the purpose of executive session requirements. The violations occurred in 2008 and 2009. He awarded $40,400 in statutory damages and attorney fees to Jeremy Price, of Fort Jennings.
