Keller Advances to State Track, Collier 7th @ Regionals

On Friday, a pair of Continental High Trackesters competed at the OHSAA Divison III Girls Track and Field Regionals for a berth in the State Meet next week.  Katie Keller ran in the Regional finals of the 300M Hurdles while Shelby Collier jumped in the Pole Vault.  Both Girls placed and earned points for the Pirates.

Keller will advance to the State Meet by placing second in the 300M Hurdles.  After placing first in her heat on Wednesday with a second place seed time of 46.82.  In the finals Keller took over a second off her time and placed second with a time of 45.45.  Jenna Clouse of Old Fort took first with a 44.70.  The other runners advancing out of the Tiffin Regional are Cassandra Lee (Delta 47.30) and Claire Rothert (Woodmore 47.39).  This is the second year in a row that Keller will be competing at State in the 300M Hurdles.

Shelby Collier made her first appearance at the Track Regionals, one where she pointed.  Shelby tied her school record at 9’6” to place in a tie for seventh place.  The winner of the Pole Bault was Kenna Stimel of Margaretta who won with a Regional Record setting jump of 12’8”.  A minimum jump of 10’4” was needed to advance out of the Archbold Regional.

Archbold took the team title in the Girls Regional with 46 points, Columbus Grove was second with 50 points.  Continentla took 26th with 9.5 points.  The State Track meet is at Ohio State University with Prelims on Friday and Finals on Saturday.
