LuAnn Beverly of McComb reached out to the Facebook community with this post concerning her need for a kidney transplant. LuAnn is the wife of former Continental resident, Rick Beverly.
I still haven’t found a donor, so I am reaching out to all of you again. In March, I was placed on the transplant list, but that could take years. Please consider donation, if you can. All of the information to apply is below. Please also SHARE, SHARE, SHARE. Thank you so much! ❤️
KIDNEY DONOR NEEDED – Family & Friends – I have had Polycystic Kidney Disease for approximately 22 years. Many of you have not known this about this. I have been referred to the OSU Wexner Medical Center for a transplant evaluation. The evaluation process has begun with extensive testing, education and discussions with the transplant medical team. They have suggested I begin the process of finding a possible donor. It is hard to know that the quality and quantity of my life depends on generous, fearless people coming forward to offer to be a donor.
If you would consider being a possible donor, it means more than you know. Donors can be between 18 and 70 years old and cannot have Cancer, Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, Diabetes or Heart Disease. My insurance will pay the donor’s costs for testing and surgery. It is a laparoscopic surgery for the donor.
If you have any questions about the donor process, please feel free to contact Amy Spain, Carrie Gemperline, or Angela Olivia, Donor Program Assistants at 614-293-6724 (#3).
