Defense wins championships and this year for the Continental High School Soccer team it did that and more. The Pirates were not only the Putnam County League Champs (3-0-1) but also swept the League awards. Defensive Stopper Dean Krendl was named Player of the year while fellow defensive/midfield position mates Jacob Williams, Trevor Williamson, and Christian Keller were named first team. The Pirates are giving up less than a goal a game. Coach Stegbauer was named coach of the year.

The Pirates (11-2-4) will next face Lima Temple Christian on Tuesday at Kalida in a District Semifinal game.
