(9/25/25) The first half of the Continental at Columbus Grove Girls Soccer game had multiple twists with both teams taking a goal lead at some point. The second half had only one Bulldog goal that proved to be the difference. It looked like it was going to be a long night for the Pirates as the Bulldogs got a clean shot at the goal from 15 off a crossing pass to take a 1-0 lead just over 5 minutes into the game. It was the Pirates offense to kick in as Makenzie Shock would take a pass at the 30 and dribble past defenders and beat the goalie to tie the game at 1 with 29:48 left in the half. Three minutes later Shock would put the Pirates up 2-1 when she took a crossing pass and again beat the goalie. The Bulldogs would tie the game with a perfectly placed corner kick that found its way into the goal with 11:41 left in the half. Pirates Bulldogs 2 all at half. The only goal in the second came off a Bulldog shot from the 18 that soared over the Pirate goalie into the opposite corner with 32:51 left in the game. The Pirates had some opportunities to tie the game but could not find the back of the net. Bulldogs 3-2.
Makenzie Shock scored 2 goals for the Pirates. Mackenzie Niese took the loss in goal for the Pirates.
From Coach Bidlack: Our Player of the Game goes out to Maeci Dockery for her two assists. Maeci had several other plays that led to scoring chances as well.
