It was all Lancers as Lincolnview played host to Continental in the Girls Basketball season opener. The Lancers took the first quarter by outscoring the Pirates 18-4. Ella Siefer and Ava Sheeter both made a basket for the Pirates points. The Pirate offense opened up in the second quarter by putting 8 on the board with Makenzie Shock (2 baskets) and Sheets (3 pointer and free throw) to the Lancers 14. Lancers 32-12 at half. The Lancers outscored the Pirates 21-6 in the third to put the game away. The Pirates got baskets from Shock, Siefer, and Sheets in the third. Lancers 53-18. The Lancers opened up the fourth by scoring a basket but the Pirates put in the next 5 points as Olivia Crossgrove made a free throw and that was followed up by baskets by Siefer and Sheets. The Lancers closed out the scoring with a free throw. Lancer 56-23 final.
Continental was led in scoring by Ava Sheets with 10 points, Makenzie Shock put in 8, Ella Siefer had 4 and Olivia Crossgrove 1. Sheets hit a 3 for the Pirates.
Continental falls to 0-1 and will travel to Hicksville on Tuesday. Make plans to take in the Christmas Cruise Thru at the Defiance County Fairgrounds after the game. Lincolnview improves to 1-0.
