
Continental Pirates Girls Basketball went into the RailYard at Montpelier and took the first quarter only to have the Loco defense hold down the Pirate offense throughout the game. Mckenzie Shock opened up the scoring with a Pirate basket. The Locos would string together 3 baskets to take a 6-2 lead. The Pirates would answer with a 3 from Kamryn Searfoss and a Mckenzie Shock basket. Pirates up 7-6 after 1. The Locos started the second scoring with a basket which the Pirates followed up with a Mckenzie Shock free throw 8 all. The Locos would close out the half putting in 9 to the Pirates getting an Olivia Crossgrove basket. Locos 17-10 at half.
The Locos would outscore the Pirates 11-5 in the third with the Pirates getting a pair of free throws from Mckenzie Shock, a basket from Kinley Stegbauer and a free throw from Morgan Shock. Locos 28-15 after 3. The fourth quarter had the Locos go 12-16 from the line and hit a 3 pointer while the Pirates put in 10 on a basket and pair of free throws from Mckenzie Shock, a 3 by Morgan Shock, and 3 points from Olivia Crossgrove. Locos 43-25 final.
Mckenzie Shock led the Pirates with 11 points. Olivia Crossgrove added 5 points. Morgan Shock put in 4. Kamryn Searfoss made 3 points. Kinley Stegbauer scored 2. The Pirates made two 3 pointers, 1 each by Morgan Shock and Kamryn Searfoss. The Locos put in 1. The Pirates were 7-18 from the line. The Locos were 14-20. Continental falls to 7-14 and will host Kalida on Thursday for Senior night. Montpelier improves to 2-18.
