
Saturday at Paulding, Continental High Girls found a Panther squad that was looking to pick up a win to improve their Division V tournament seed. The DVII Pirates came out and got on the board first with an Olivia Crossgrove basket. Pirates 2-0. The Panthers would put in the next 21 points of the first to take a 21-2 lead. Kamryn Searfoss would finish off the first scoring with a basket Panthers 21-4 after 1. A Morgan Shock free throw opened up the second quarter scoring. Panthers 21-5. The teams traded baskets with the Pirates Kenzie Stark putting in 2. Panthers 23-7. The Panthers would end the half scoring 13 of the next 15 points with Shock making a basket. Panthers 36-9 at half.
The Panthers would put in 15 of the first 16 points of the third to take a 51-10 lead. A Shock free throw provided the Pirates points. Kamryn Searfoss would hit a 3 to finish off the third scoring. Panthers 51-13. The Pirates would take the last quarter 6-5 as Kamryn Searfoss would hit a 3, Macie Clemens a basket and Crossgrove a free throw. Panthers 57-19.
Kamryn Searfoss led the Pirates with 8 points on two 3s. Morgan Shock scored 4. Olivia Crosrove put in 3 points. Kenzie Searfoss and Macie Clemens both scored 2. The Panther had a 3-2 advantage from 3 point land. The Pirates were 3-6 from the line while the Panthers were 8-20.
Continental falls to 3-16 and travel to Wayne Trace on Tuesday. Paulding improves to 15-4.
