On Saturday Continental High girls soccer team traveled to the greater Toledo area to take on New Knoxville in non league action. No scoring action for the first half of the first half was ended when Pirate Alex Hoeffel put in a breakaway goal at the 19:07. Hoeffel was not done scoring in the first half as she took a pass from Kaitlyn Alvarado and put it in the back of the net at the 8:33 mark. The Pirates almost held the Rangers scoreless in the first half but a shot that just barely cleared the Pirate Goalie hands hit the back of the net with 17 seconds left in the half. Pirates 2 Rangers 1 at half.
The second half started with the Rangers tying the game on a shot from the corner at the 29:45 mark. At the 19:18 mark Hoeffel made a nice move to play through the defense and the Pirates regained the lead 3-2. At the 8:18 mark Hoeffel put in a shot from the 15 to finish the days scoring. Pirates 4 Rangers 2.
Pirates move to 4-4 with the win and will host Bryan on Tuesday.
