For about 3 minutes in the second half the rain stopped when the Lady Pirates Soccer team hosted Northwood on Saturday. Playing on a wet surface somewhat limited the action in the first half as the Pirates Alex Hoeffel put in the lone goal with 7:54 left in the half.
The second half was a different story as the Pirates came out and scored early and often. At the 36:52 mark Kaytlin Bibler put in a rebound off a Paige Lawhorn shot. 24 seconds later Hoeffel put in another goal. At 30:44 Hoeffel launched a shot off the goalie that went in from the 20. At 14:53 Hoeffel put in a shot from the 15. Paige Lawhorn got on the scoring page as she put in the goal a pass from Hoeffel. Kaitlyn Alvarado finished the Pirate scoring with 11 second left. Pirates 6, Northwood 0.
Continental had 42 shots on goal while the Rangers had 3. Goalie Ashley Mansfield made 3 saves.
The Pirates are now 7-1 and next travel to Bryan on Tuesday.
