Sports — It had been at least 5 years since the Continental Lady Pirates have won a tournament game. That streak ended on Tuesday night in the OHSAA Division IV sectional semifinal at Paulding where the Pirates took on Fort Jennings. The game opened the Pirates way as they held a 11-6 after 1. A tight second quarter had the Musketeers slice the Pirate advantage by 2 to make it Pirates 20, Musketeers 17 at half. The third quarter was all Musketeers as they outscored the Pirates by 8. Musketeers 32, Pirates 27. The Pirates slowly but surely battled back and, following an Alex Hoeffel free throw, were ahead 39-36 with 23 second left. The Musketeers drained a 3 to tie the game at 39 all with 11 seconds to go. Neither teams scored in the final 11 seconds. The overtime started with the Musketeers hitting a free throw and then it was all Pirate Amber Logan as she scored the next 8 points. Final Pirates 47, Musketeers 42.
Amber Logan led the Pirates with 25 points while Brooke Bradford had 7. Addyson Armey had 6, Alex Hoeffel 4, Jalen Armey 3, and Ashley Mansfield 2. Amber Logan hit 2 3-pointers while Brooke Bradford and Addyson Armey both put in 1.
