On Tuesday night at Continental, the Pirates hosted the Ayersville Pilots in a rematch of a Ayersville Holiday Tournament Semifinal game. That game went the Pilots way, this one did not as the Pirates outpointed the Pilots in all but on quarter. Things started out right for the Pirates as they put in 14 in the first to the Pilots 8. The Pilots outscored the Pirates in the second as they repeated their points but and held the Pirates to 7. Pirates 21 Pilots 16 at half. A huge third quarter for the Pirates as they held the Pilots to 2 while putting in 12. Pirates 33 Pilots 18 after 3. A close fourth quarter also went the Pirates way as they finished the game as 40-23 victors.
Amber Logan led the Pirates with 17 points while Addyson Armey put in 9. Alex Hoeffel scored 8. Kaitlyn Alvarado, Kerri Prowant and Maddi Potts all had 2 points. Logan and Hoeffel both put in two 3 pointers each.
Continental improves to 4-17 and will host Kalida on Thursday for a Putnam County League game. This game is also Senior night. The Pilots fall to 7-13. Continental and Ayersville will meet for a third time in the OHSAA Girls Basketball Division IV sectional semifinal at Bryan on Wednesday Feb 21 at 6:15.
