Columbus Grove Bulldogs 59, Lady Pirates 26
Visiting Columbus Grove defense stymied the Continental High Girls offense in the first quarter to take control of the game early. The Bulldogs jumped out to at 17-0 lead in the first quarter. A fairly even second quarter had the Bulldogs outscore the Pirates 12-11 to take a 29-11 lead into the locker room at half. The Bulldogs built on their lead in the third quarter and had a 48-19 lead heading into the final quarter. The Bulldogs took the final quarter 11-7 and the game 59-26.
Bryn Tegenkamp led the Pirates with 13 points while Olivia Logan put in 10 and Makenzie Shock added 3. Shock hit the only 3 for the Pirates. Columbus put in twelve 3-pointers.
Continental falls to 0-3 (0-1 PCL) and will continue their season opening homestand on Thursday when they host Tinora. Columbus Grove improves to 2-1.
Tinora Rams 55, Lady Pirates 36
A visiting Tinora 3 point lead at half became a 13 point lead after 3 as the Rams dominated the 3rd quarter in this nonleague Girls game. The Rams took the first quarter by 6, 15-9. A low scoring second quarter made the deficit 3 as Continental put in 7 to the Rams 4. Rams 19-16 at half. The Rams came out of the locker ready to play and outscored the Pirates 19-9 to take a 38-25 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Rams would outpoint the Pirates in the fourth quarter by 6 for a 55-36 Ram final.
Olivia Logan led the Pirates with 12 points, Bryn Tegenkamp add 11 points. Macie Cordes put in 5, Makenzie Shock and Tori Searfoss 3 each, and Olivia Crossgrove 2 points. Logan hit a pair of 3s while Searfoss made 1 for the Pirates. The Rams hit three 3-pointers.
Continental falls to 0-4 and will host Fairview on Tuesday. Tinora improves to 2-2.
