
Every game Continental High School had played this year has ended in a shutout, Pirates winning 3 and losing 3. Saturday was no different as the Pirates held visiting Defiance scoreless. The Pirates put a goal on the board with 22:25 left in the first half to take a 1-0 lead. Destiny Pier put in the eventual game winner. Both teams had a numbers of shots that hit the goal posts or were just outside but the Pier goal stood at the end of the game. Pirates 1-0.
Pirate Destiny Pier scored the only goal of the game.
Mackenzie Niese picked up the shutout win in the goal with 4 saves. The Pirates took 22 shots with 10 being on goal while the Bulldogs had 8 shots, 4 on goal. Continental had 7 corner kicks, the Bulldogs 0. Continental committed 9 fouls and were called offsides 4 times. Defiance committed 10 fouls and had no offsides calls.
Continental improves to 4-3 and will travel to Delta on Monday. Defiance falls to 0-6-1.
