
On Tuesday night the Lady Pirates only won one quarter but that was enough to take the game as they held off host Antwerp 48-47. The game started out evenly with the two teams splitting the first quarter Pirates 9, Archers 9. A 10-13 advantage in the second quarter by the Archers had them heading to the locker room at halftime with a 3 point lead 22-19. The third quarter was all Pirates as they outpointed the Archers by 12 to take a 36-27 lead into the fourth quarter. The Archers would put 20 on the broad in the fourth but it was the Pirates who would prevail 48-47.
The Pirates were led with Addy Armey scoring 19 and Catelyn Etter putting in 13. Alex Hoeffel scored 9, Kerri Prowant 6 and Madelyn Potts 1. Armey and Prowant both this two 3s while Hoeffel and Etter each made one triple.
Continental improves to 8-8 and will host Pandora Gilboa on Saturday in a Putnam County League game. Antwerp falls to 5-9.
