Bulldogs 3, Lady Pirates 2
In a game that had a lots of twists and turns it was host Columbus Grove who picked up the thrilling 3-2 victory over Continental in Putnam County League Volleyball. It was all Bulldogs in game 1 with a 25-14 win. The Pirates took game 2 25-15. The match then saw three close games. The Pirates took game 3 30-28 to take a 2-1 lead in match. Game 4 went to the Bulldogs 26-24 to even the match. The fifth game went to extras but it was the Bulldogs taking the game 16-14 and the match 3-2.
Teaghan McDougle had 33 assists and 3 aces for the Pirates. Rhaegan Marshall had 13 kills, 7 digs, and 3 block assists. Delaney Bowers 12 kills, 15 digs, 4 blocks and 5 aces. Macie Cordes 8 kills, 9 digs, and 3 aces. Lauren Williams 6 kills and 10 digs.
The Pirates gall to 2-4 (0-1 PCL) and will host Leipsic on Thursday in another PCL match. Columbus Grove improves to 1-4 (1-1 PCL).
Vikings 3, Lady Pirates 0
After a hard fought Putnam County League match 5 game match on Tuesday against Columbus Grove the Pirates followed that up by taking on another PCL rival by hosting Leipsic on Thursday. It was all Viking this night as they came out and took game 1 25-9. Game 2 went the Vikings way 25-15. The Vikings completed the sweep with a 25-8 win in game 3. Vikings 3-0 final.
Continental was led by Delaney Bowers with 5 kills, 15 dig and a block and a block assist. Lauren Williams had 4 kills, 10 digs, 2 aces, and a block assist. Rheagan Marshall 4 kills, 7 digs, and a block assist. Teaghan McDougle had 7 assists and 3 digs.
The Pirates fall to 2-5 (0-2 PCL) and will host undefeated Lima Temple Christian on Saturday. Leipsic improves to 8-1 (3-0 PCL).
