Lady Pirates 31, Commodores 27
On Monday, both teams each won two quarters when Continental High Girls basketball team hosted Lima Perry in non league actions. The Pirates blitzed the Commodores in the first 9-0. It was the Commodores turn to take control of the game in the second quarter as they outscored the Pirates by 11 to take a 15-13 into the midgame break. The Pirates took the lead back in the third quarter when they outscored the Commodores 14-5 for a 17-20 lead heading into the final quarter. Although the Commodores won the final quarter it was not enough to win the game. Pirates 31 Commodores 27 final.
Bryn Tegenkamp led the Pirates with 13 points while Olivia Logan added 7. Reese Knowles scored 5, Jensen Armey 4, and Marissa Becher 2. Both teams made two 3 pointers with Armey and Logan making them for the Pirates. Perry won the rebounding battle 35-32 while the Pirates had less turnovers 34-23.
Continental picked up there first win of the season and are now 1-6. The Pirates hosted Maumee Valley Country Day on Wednesday. Lima Perry falls to 1-10.
Lady Pirates 42, MVCD 22
Big nights by a pair of Pirates propelled them to a home victory against Maumee Valley Country Day school on Wednesday. The Pirates got a double double performance from Senior Jensen Armey. Armey put in 18 points and had 10 steals while Bryn Tegenkamp just missed a double double effort scoring 9 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. The Pirates took the rescheduled game 42-22.
Continental improves to 2-6 and will attempt to make it 3-0 on Monday at Cory Rawson. Maumee Valley Country Day falls to 0-5.
