
The visiting Ayersville Pilots took both the first two quarters but it was the Pirates who emerged victorious. The Pilots came out and took the first quarter 14-12. The Pirates would struggle offensively in the second quarter and only put in 7 points to the Pilots 15. Ayersville 29, Continental 21 at half. The Pirates offense was in high gear in the second half as they outpointed the first half total in each quarter. The Pirates poured in 23 points in the third quarter while holding the Pilots to 11 points. Pirates 44, Pilots 40. The Pirates put the game away in the fourth quarter as they outscored the Pilots by 5, 22-17. Pirates winners 66-57.
The Pirates had balanced scoring as 4 put in double digit points. Addy Armey led the Pirates with 18 points, Alex Hoeffel and Catelyn Etter put in 16 each, and Kerri Prowant put in 14. Prowant hit four 3-pointers while Armey made 2, Hoeffel and Etter 1 each. The Pilots made five 3-pointers.
Continental improves to 11-10 and will host Kalida on Thursday (2/13) in a Putnam County League game and Senior Night. Ayersville falls to 5-16.
