Saturday saw Continental High Girls Soccer team have their home opener as Delphos Jefferson came into town. After a rough 3 game stretch on the road the Pirates took welcomed support of the home field crowd. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw as Marissa Becher put in the goal for the Pirates with Jensen Armey getting the assist.
Continental falls to 0-3-1 and will open up their Putnam County League schedule on Tuesday when the host Fort Jennings. Delphos Jefferson is now 1-2-2.
Pirates 2021 Girls Soccer Roster
Last year the Pirates season ended at home when Delta took them out in a D III Evergreen District Sectional Semifinal 2-1 in double overtime. The game was spread over 2 days due to darkness.
With a roster built on mainly Juniors and Seniors Continental High Girls Soccer looks to improve on last years 5-9-3 record. Coach Bidlack has 4 Seniors and 5 Juniors coming back this year. The Pirates last finished in a tie for fourth place in the PCL with a 2-2-1 record. Miller City was the PCL champs. The Pirates look to improve on their offensive side as they put in only 15 goals.
