On Saturday Continental High School Girls Soccer team played host to Spencerville in OHSAA Division III Sectional Semifinal action. Continental came into the game seeded #1 in the Ottoville District while Spencerville was seeded #9. Spencerville had advanced to the game by defeating #10 seed Delphos St Johns on Monday. The Pirates had a bye to the sectional finals.
Action was all Pirates all the way as they put up 31 shots to a lone Bearcat shot. Alex Hoeffel had a pair of goals in the first half for a Pirate 2-0 advantage at the break. The second half had the Pirates and Bearcats match the prior half total as Hoeffel completed the hat trick, Paige Lawhorn added a goal, and Goalie Ashley Mansfield finished the shutout. Pirates 4, Bearcats 0.

Continental is now 13-4 and advances to the Ottoville District Semifinal where they will meet #4 seed Kalida on Wednesday. Spencerville finished the season at 6-4.
