Continental High Softball took to the Road on Monday and needed an extra inning to pick up the win. It was all Rams at the start as the plated 3 runs in the bottom of the first and 2 in the bottom of the second to take a 5-0 lead. That lead held until the top of the fourth when the Pirates cut into it with 3 runs. The Pirates would take their first lead in the top of the 6th when they plated 4 runs. Pirates 7-5. After the Pirates had held the Rams scoreless for 4 innings the Rams scored 2 runs in what could have been their last at bat to tie the game at 7. In the top of the 8th the Pirates scored 5 runs to take a 12-7 lead. The Rams were held scoreless in the bottom half of the 8th. Pirates 12-7 winners.
Gracie Homier picked up the complete game win for the Pirates. Homier gave up 12 hits, 7 runs, and had 9 strikeouts while walking 1.
Gracie Homier led the Pirates hitting attack by going 3-4 with 2 doubles, 1 run and 2 RBIs. Aislynn Noffsinger had 2 hits, 1 double, scored 2 runs, and had 2 RBIs. Raegen Clemens had 2 hits, 1 double, scored 2 runs, and had 2 RBIs. Macie Cordes had 2 hits, 1 double, and scored 2 runs. Tori Searfoss hit a triple. Reese Knowles hit a double, scored 2 runs and had 1 RBI. Alli Scott had 1 hit and scored 2 runs. Lauren Williams had 1 hit, 1 run, and 1 RBI. Madison Rayle had 1 hit and 1 RBI. The Pirates pounded out 14 hits with 7 of them being extra base hits.
Continental improves to 3-1. Upper Scioto Valley is now 1-1.
