The Lady Pirates are knocking out some larger schools on the tournament trail. On Saturday, the girls shutdown Ottawa-Glandorf 1-0 to win the Sectional crown. Wednesday night’s nail-biter at Bath ended with a 4-3 win over Lima Central Catholic in overtime.
Paige Ordway scored the first goal of the night with 32:00 on the clock in the first half. LCC quickly came back and scored 2 goals leaving the Lady Pirates down by one at the half. With 29:38 left in the second half, LCC scored another goal to put them ahead 3-1. Ten minutes later Ordway scored for Continental and then again with 3:19 remaining on the clock to end regulation play tied at 3-3. With 4:32 remaining in the overtime period, Paige Kindilien scored the winning goal from a straight on kick, 18 yards out.
The Lady Pirates (12-2-2) will play in the District Finals against Kalida (14-1-2) on Saturday at 6pm at Lima Bath.
